Leupold Mark 4HD Named ‘Optic of the Year’ by Shooting Illustrated

Leupold & Stevens, Inc., provider of the world’s most rugged, lightweight, and clear sport optics, is pleased to announce that its Mark 4HD riflescope has received a Golden Bullseye Award for ‘Optic of the Year’ from Shooting Illustrated magazine, an official journal of the National Rifle Association.

The Golden Bullseye Awards, now in their 23rd year, recognize the firearm industry’s top products as voted on by the editors of NRA Publications. To qualify for consideration for a Golden Bullseye Award, the product must have been tested by an NRA Staff member or regular contributor, prove to be reliable in the field, meet or exceed the evaluator’s expectations, innovative in design and function, and readily perceived as a value to the purchaser.

“What’s the bottom line on the Mark 4HD riflescope? Plain and simple, it just works,” said Shooting Illustrated’s Jay Grazio in his August 2024 review, “Whether dialing or using holdovers, the 6-24X scope we had on the Solus rifles provided a sharp picture of the target and made hits at distance easy. Even under the pressure of a “friendly” competition, the clarity of the scope and the precision of the dials ensured the only misses were the fault of the person pulling the trigger.”

No matter the use-case, the Mark 4HD’s optical clarity and lightweight design will get the job done at the range or in the field. The Mark 4HD series features a 4:1 zoom ratio and five magnification ranges, giving you an accurate and reliable option for close-quarter engagements, long-range dominance, and everything in between.

Illuminated reticle options are available. It is push-button operated and features Leupold’s Motion Sensor Technology (MST) which will put the illumination to sleep after five minutes of inactivity, reactivating it as soon as the scope moves.

The entire Mark 4HD family features Leupold’s Professional-Grade Optical System, which delivers the light transmission, glare reduction, and resolution that professional guides and shooters demand. The push-button ZeroLock dial system eliminates accidental dial movement and allows a rapid return to zero. Select models feature a similar ZeroLock windage turret.

New with the Mark 4HD is the PR3-MIL reticle. Building upon Leupold’s popular PR2-MIL reticle, the PR3 provides a clutter-free image for fast, accurate precision aiming.

"Few editorial teams speak the language of hunters and shooters better than the group at NRA Publications," said Bruce Pettet, President and Chief Executive Officer for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. "We're proud that the team at Shooting Illustrated saw the Mark 4HD for what it is: a class-leading riflescope that delivers incredible performance and versatility to consumers around the globe.”

The Mark 4HD is waterproof, fogproof, shockproof, and guaranteed to perform for life. Like all Leupold riflescopes, the Mark 4HD is proudly designed, machined, and assembled in the company’s factory in Beaverton, Oregon.
