Leupold Mark 4HD Riflescope Named ‘Optic of the Year’ by Guns & Ammo

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Leupold & Stevens, Inc., provider of the world’s most rugged, lightweight, and clear sport optics, is pleased to announce that the Leupold Mark 4HD riflescope has been named “Optic of the Year” by Guns & Ammo magazine.

“Leupold is capable of offering a product like the Mark 4HD because it is unique among scope manufacturers. In the case of the Mark 4HD, everything was designed, made and assembled in the U.S., and the company leadership was willing to compete with its own more expensive Mark 5HD line to benefit the consumer,” wrote Guns & Ammo’s Tom Beckstrand. “The combination of corporate attitude and these products is unusual and worth rewarding, which is why the Mark 4HD series was named Guns & Ammo’s 2024 Optic of the Year.”

Guns & Ammo annually recognizes the preeminent products in the shooting and outdoor industry. To meet the publication’s standards, a product must be new, must demonstrate quality and reliability to a degree that met or exceeded its design objective, and must offer appeal to a large audience.

“Guns & Ammo has been one of the most respected publications in the shooting space for more than 60 years, and its editors possess an unparalleled amount of expertise and experience,” said Bruce Pettet, President and Chief Executive Officer for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “We’re honored that a publication and team like that recognizes the Mark 4HD for what it is: a class-leading riflescope designed to bring our core consumers incredible performance and versatility from an optic that’s designed, machined, and assembled right here in the United States.”

No matter the use-case, the Mark 4HD’s optical clarity and lightweight design will get the job done at the range or in the field. The Mark 4HD series features a 4:1 zoom ratio and five magnification ranges, giving you an accurate and reliable option for close-quarter engagements, long-range dominance, and everything in between.

Illuminated reticle options are available. It is push-button operated and features Leupold’s Motion Sensor Technology (MST) which will put the illumination to sleep after five minutes of inactivity, reactivating it as soon as the scope moves.

The entire Mark 4HD family features Leupold’s Professional-Grade Optical System, which delivers the light transmission, glare reduction, and resolution that professional guides and shooters demand. The push-button ZeroLock dial system eliminates accidental dial movement and allows a rapid return to zero. Select models feature a similar ZeroLock windage turret.

New with the Mark 4HD is the PR3-MIL reticle. Building upon Leupold’s popular PR2-MIL reticle, the PR3 provides a clutter-free image for fast, accurate precision aiming.

The Mark 4HD is waterproof, fogproof, shockproof, and guaranteed to perform for life. Like all Leupold riflescopes, it is proudly designed, machined, and assembled in the company’s Beaverton, Ore., factory.
