Join Nebraska Game and Parks and Glacial Till Vineyard for the October release party of Slowpoke Cider, a limited-edition drink that benefits Nebraska wildlife education and conservation.

The party is 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 18 at Glacial Till Cider House and Tasting Room, 1417 Silver St., Ashland, and features a tangerine cider inspired by Nebraska’s state reptile: the ornate box turtle.

For every six-pack sold — either at the event or at locations where Glacial Till is sold — $1 goes to Game and Parks for wildlife conservation and education efforts across the state.

During the party, guests can test their turtle knowledge with trivia, meet live ornate box turtles, chat with wildlife experts, or explore exhibits that dive into Nebraska’s ecosystems.

“You’ll discover fun ways to help protect our wild spaces while enjoying a refreshing drink,” said Monica Macoubrie, Game and Parks fish and wildlife educator who spearheaded the collaboration. “So grab your friends and family, and grab a glass, taste a sample or buy an entire six-pack!”

The release party is free and open to all; no registration is required. It also coincides with Nebraska’s Reptile Month, a month dedicated to celebrating Nebraska’s turtles, lizards and snakes, which play a valuable role in our state’s ecosystem.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Nebraska Game and Parks for the release of Slowpoke Cider,” said Craig Murman, of Glacial Till. “This collaboration aligns with our commitment to giving back to the local community and environment.”

“This cider will support Nebraska wildlife and education in a fun and engaging way,” he added. “Collectively, we can raise awareness to protect Nebraska’s wildlife and diverse ecosystems.”
