GRITR Range is excited to announce that it will be holding a Texas LTC class on July 28 from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The range is a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Certified instructor, allowing it to provide successful students with the official documents required for obtaining their licenses.

The course includes:

l Lecture (4-6 hours): Delivered through an engaging PowerPoint and open discussion format, this session covers:

l Texas Open/Concealed Carry laws

l Use of Force and Deadly Force regulations

l Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA) guidelines

l Castle Law and non-violent dispute resolution

l The Criminal and Civil Courts systems and asset protection if involved in a shooting

l What to say and what not to say to the police

l Written Exam

l Range Test (1 hour): Involves firing 50 rounds at a human-shaped silhouette from the ready position at distances of 3, 7, and 15 yards.

Important Note: Applicants must be proficient with their handguns. This is not a class to teach you how to shoot.

Upon successfully completing the course, tests, and handgun qualifications, participants will receive the License to Carry: Handgun Training Certificate (Form LTC-104) required for the state application.
