USACE releases the final revision of the Supplemental Environmental Assessment for the MKARNS 12-foot channel deepening project

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has released the final revision of the supplemental environmental assessment and finding of no significant impact for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System 12-foot channel deepening project.

The final versions of these documents can be viewed online at https://www.swl.usace.army.mil/Missions/Planning/MKARNS-12-foot-Channel/12-foot-channel-documents/.

The SEA, prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, supplements the 2005 Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Arkansas River Navigation Study, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

The SEA provides a concise summary of the history and status of the originally authorized ARNS Project, documents the changes and refinements made to the MKARNS 12-foot Channel design during the pre-construction engineering design and construction phases and evaluates the potential environmental effects of the updated construction and design plans that may have changed since the FEIS was completed.

Information on the 12-foot channel can be found on the Internet at www.swl.usace.army.mil, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/littlerockusace and on X at www.X.com/usacelittlerock..
