Leupold Adds Suite of Archery Features to RX-5000 TBR/W Laser Rangefinder

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Leupold & Stevens, Inc., the leader in rugged, lightweight, and exceptionally clear sport optics, has announced the addition of a suite of archery-related features to the award-winning RX-5000 TBR/W laser rangefinder. Bow Mode, featuring both TRIG and Archer’s Advantage profiles can be downloaded to new and existing units, effective immediately.

Upon activating Bow Mode, owners are given two options: TRIG and Archer’s Advantage. TRIG mode works with the RX-5000 to provide the equivalent horizontal range for arrows. It allows the RX-5000 to provide ballistically equivalent horizontal distances out to 175 yards for archery shots and is ideal for tree stand hunting and spot and stalk shooting situations out to 70 yards with angles less than 20 degrees. Archer’s Advantage, meanwhile, takes customization to the next level–it uses your personal bow and arrow ballistics to deliver the most accurate archery shoot-to range possible enabling serious hunters to take advantage of high angle, long range shots typical in rugged mountainous conditions. Accounting for your bow’s velocity, peep height, arrow weight, and the angles of your shots, the ballistic software turns out deadly-accurate ranges that are customized to your setup.

Bow Mode can now be downloaded to the RX-5000 for free via push notification in the Leupold Control App, which is available on your service provider’s app store and works exclusively with the RX-5000.

“The RX-5000 is an incredible tool, and archery hunters immediately took notice,” said Eric Overstreet, Product Line Manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “Using the Leupold Control App, we’re able to continuously support and upgrade the RX-5000’s software and adding archery features became our first order of business. With Trig Mode, you’re getting a simple, ‘set it and forget it’ solution for your bow’s setup. If you’re looking for a completely customized solution, Archer’s Advantage delivers, bar none, the most accurate archery ballistics available today.”

The RX-5000 is built for the modern hunter. It delivers an incredible 5,000-yard ranging distance and is packed with other new features. What sets it apart is its integration with the Leupold Control app, which allows for regular software updates and unlocks the game-changing Pinning feature. Using your phone’s GPS, pinning allows you to remotely drop location pins on digital mapping platforms like onX Hunt, Google Maps, and Apple Maps, turning every range into a recorded waypoint.

“The RX-5000 combines our already industry-leading features with our Pinning technology, which represents a true game-changer for backcountry hunters,” Overstreet said. “Using one of several mapping systems, you’ll be able to pin the locations that you range–which can be invaluable when navigating ridge to ridge or recovering an animal after the shot.”

Among the RX-5000’s bevy of other features is Long Range mode which can become invaluable for navigational situations. It can extend ranges to exceed 5,000 yards on all targets–nearly three miles away. To assist with using Long Range mode, the RX-5000 ships with an included tripod saddle and can be fired remotely using the Leupold Control app.

The RX-5000 will accurately range in the snow, rain, and fog, thanks to its Last Target mode. It provides exceptionally bright and clear images with a high light transmission red OLED display and makes long-range target acquisition fast and easy with its 8x magnification.

The RX-5000’s on-board True Ballistic Range/Wind (TBR/W) technology provides precise angle-compensated shoot-to distances for rifle hunters. TBR/W technology takes accuracy to the next level by offering 25 selectable ballistics groups that account for your preferred cartridge, helping you dial in the exact range of your target. You can also program the rangefinder to display holdovers in either MIL or MOA, if desired.
