Washington, D.C. — Gun Owners of America (GOA) is ready to help President Trump execute his campaign promises to gun owners to restore gun rights and freedoms that were infringed upon by the Biden administration’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

GOA applauds the promises made to gun owners by President Trump on the campaign trail:

• To rip up and throw out "all of those Biden disasters" by ATF in his first week;

• To reverse ATF rules including the Biden Pistol Brace Ban & Backdoor Registration Checks;

• To fire "anti-gun fanatic" ATF Director Steve Dettelbach—which already forced him to retire;

• To end the attack on the firearm industry by ATF's "Zero Tolerance" policy; and

• To sign the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act into law when the GOA-backed bill reaches his desk.

In an address to GOA members at the Gun Owners Advocacy and Leadership Summit (GOALS) in August, 2024, President Trump also promised that he would “always listen to Gun Owners of America.”

Aidan Johnston, GOA’s Director of Federal Affairs, issued the following statement:

“For four years, President Biden weaponized the ATF against gun owners to initiate gun bans and illegal rules, so there is a lot to be done to restore the Second Amendment. GOA is ready to work with President Trump to protect and restore the Second Amendment and we are looking forward to the issuance of the firearm-related executive actions which he promised on the campaign trail.”
