The most recent release of the Accuracy Solutions’ ORCA Chassis, as well as additions to BipodeXt bipod extender offerings and the McRee Precision acquisition, has resulted in the need for a remotely located product design and development help. Led by Austin Jones, Nitriam LLC is the designer on record currently partnered with Accuracy Solutions, LLC for all product development initiatives. As such, a product designer candidate, as described in the position listing below, will report to Jones as a part-time product designer under the Nitriam LLC umbrella, with predominant focus on Accuracy Solutions design and development tasks. JOB TITLE: Product Designer (Remote)

REPORTS TO: Nitriam LLC, Austin Jones

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Product Designer will be proficient in Fusion 360 to assist in designing and modeling precision rifle chassis and accessories. In this role, the designer will also be an integral part of the Accuracy Solutions team in overall product development, from inception and prototyping to product launch.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS

• Work within Fusion 360 to design chassis and other precision rifle/shooting accessories
• Modeling from scratch and modifying existing models primarily for CNC manufacturing
• Modeling themes include rifle chassis, scope mounts, scope bases, tube extension assemblies and more. Knowledge of defining sketches and parametric modeling is required
• Draft technical drawings following GD&T standards

The designer position is remote in nature; however, the prospective employee must be present in remote meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 AM to 5 PM PST. The preferred candidate will reside on the West Coast; however, candidates throughout the U.S. will be considered but must be available for meetings scheduled in Pacific Standard Time. The candidate is required to be an active part of the design process and must commit to discussing real-time solutions and design requirements. Most often, meetings and discussions are accomplished via Microsoft Teams.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Solid, detailed, technical knowledge of bolt action rifles, particularly repeaters, magazine-fed actions, and all required components and accessories
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or an applicable combination of education and experience
• Knowledge and experience in creating BOMs and exploded views in an animated workspace
• Experience with CNC programming and operation, as well as other manufacturing processes, process improvements and methods are pluses

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Certifications in Fusion 360 and/or CAD are preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

• Firearms/Shooting experience is required
• Working functional knowledge of firearms is required
• Must possess a high level of integrity and strong work ethic
• Military background a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred
• Be available for occasional travel to onsite or offsite events
• Able to lift, carry and transport heavy products, samples and materials
• Professional appearance and demeanor

WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS

The position is remote with communications, meetings, collaborations, etc. facilitated via Microsoft Teams, email, WhatsApp and other remote-networking channels. Work schedule hours are flexible with the exceptions of scheduled meeting and team collaboration times, as well as prospective travel, production or event requirements where physical presence is required, as well as other business needs where scheduled time is mandatory in the best interest of the company. The candidate must be flexible to work outside of normal business operating hours.
