Jose Wejebe ‘Spanish Fly’ Memorial Foundation Continues to Make Fishing Dreams Come True and Honor the Legacy of Jose Wejebe With Outdoor America

The Jose Wejebe Memorial Foundation was founded in April 2012 and remains a lasting tribute to the legendary angler and TV host Jose Wejebe. Jose’s impact continues through the foundation’s mission honor Jose’s legacy by matching his passion for education, conservation, and making fishing dreams come true.

Jose Wejebe was not only the charismatic host of Spanish Fly but also an advocate for conservation and an example of generosity. Throughout his life, Jose worked with multiple organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Wounded Warriors, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help countless individuals fulfill their dreams and offer support to those in need.

Active Programs:

The foundation has brought over 580 individuals on unforgettable fishing trips through the “Fishing Dreams Come True” program. The foundation has also provided help to fishing communities impacted from a natural disaster through the Disaster Relief and Clean Up program and offers a Legacy Mentorship Program to pair local kids with local guides to give them the tools and knowledge needed to responsibly, safely, and ethically enjoy their local fishery.

Continuing Jose's Legacy with Outdoor America:

In partnership with Outdoor America, over 200 episodes of Spanish Fly will be available on Outdoor America’s FAST TV, App, and Broadcast channels. This collaboration brings Jose's beloved show and message to new audiences.
