Archery enthusiasts were treated to an incredible display of skill and sportsmanship at the Hamilton County Fox Indoor Regional, held at the White County Archery Range in Carmi, Illinois. The range was packed with nearly 80 archers from seven S3DA teams fiercely competing.
Young Adult Female Open archer, Parker Biggs from Edward County Archery, shot an amazing 150 with 24 X’s! The competition was a nail-biter in the Young Adult Male Open class, with Gabe Winkleman, Trevor Millenbine, Nolen Seals, and Reece Gholson all shooting a 150, and podium placement had to be determined by the X-count.
Hamilton County Fox Archery Youth Pins archer, Adelyn White, commented, “I shot a personal best. I have been shooting arrows since I was a kid, and it is amazing to see how much I have improved over the years. Archery has taught me a lot! I really had a great time shooting with my friends and I can’t wait for the next shoot.”
Illinois S3DA State Coordinator, Josh White, remarked, “We had a great turnout for the Hamilton County Fox Indoor Regional. We know these archers gave it their all because the scores speak for themselves. It is truly amazing to see the sportsmanship and competitiveness among these kids. It is crazy how fast the indoor season has gone by. It won’t be long until our Indoor State Championship. We currently have over 150+ children registered for that event and a lot of those kids shot in this regional. It is amazing to see the sport of archery continue to grow in the great state of Illinois!”

About Scholastic 3-D Archery
Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic 3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA youth participate in 3D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Youth members can participate at regional, state and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3D shooting and bowhunting.
