FWP Seeking Volunteers for Noxious Weed Removal Event at Flathead Lake State Park

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is seeking volunteers for a noxious weed removal project at the West Shore Unit of Flathead Lake State Park.

FWP is planning the project for Saturday, July 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the West Shore Unit. Snacks, water, and tools will be provided. Due to limiting parking availability, please call the Flathead Lake State Park Ranger Station at 406-837-3041 to register.

Noxious weeds, especially knapweed, threaten the health of native ecosystems by outcompeting native vegetation. By dedicating a few hours of time, volunteers will help keep West Shore State Park’s natural landscape healthier and more resilient along Flathead Lake.

For additional information, call the number above or email FWP Land Improvement Specialist Kalle Fox at kalle.fox@mt.gov.
