Williamsburg, KY – Approximately, 82 archers from across the state of Michigan gathered in Stanton, Michigan at the Central Michigan Sportsman’s Club for the second Michigan S3DA Indoor regional of the 2023 competition season. Many of the archers were excited to see each other, as they had not been able to shoot together since last season. There were also quite a few first-time archers that made their archery debut. With multiple line times throughout the day, all reaching max capacity, archers displayed incredible skills with some top-notch scores.
Michigan S3DA State Coordinator, Cara Waite said, “Seeing the first-time archers shoot was one of the most exciting parts of the day. To watch them turn and walk off the line with a smile from ear to ear makes all the work that goes into an event worth it. As archers took their targets faces down, they all made a b-line back to their parents to show them their target and share their scores. Everyone was so positive today with the archers no matter the age or team.”
Parent, Sara Chapman, has a son who is shooting in S3DA for the first time this year. She is thrilled he has this unique opportunity available. She said, “He has learned so much in such a short time. I like the structure of this program and the routine that it creates for us.”
Eagle archer, Jase Delamater stated, “I like the feeling of nervousness. Then, I like to conquer that nervousness once I get into shooting. I enjoy the fact that even though I am competing against some of my friends that we don’t take anything personal, and we help each other out and encourage one another to shoot the best that we can.”
