Bethany Blume private pond application environmental assessment

A landowner is applying for a private fish pond license and proposes to stock rainbow trout and brown trout. The private pond is approximately 0.8-acre groundwater pit located at 998 Montana 141 Avon, MT. The pond was excavated and is filled using a well water right from a groundwater source. No fish are currently present in the pond. Introducing these trout into the pond will likely have minor impacts to the existing aquatic invertebrate, reptile, and amphibian communities present in or around the pond primarily related to predation by stocked fish. The pond has no inlet or outlet connecting it to a natural waterbody.

Comments due December 5, 2024.
