CONCORD, N.H. - A public hearing will be held on October 30 to discuss rules regarding the application process for the new nonresident student licenses for hunting and fishing in New Hampshire. The licenses were authorized by a law passed earlier this year. The hearing is set for Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 12:00 noon at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, 11 Hazen Drive, Concord, N.H.

As of August 10, 2014, full-time students attending school in New Hampshire may purchase non-resident fishing (freshwater or recreational saltwater) or hunting licenses at resident rates. Students may be in high school, college or graduate school. To get the reduced rate, they must show a valid, current school ID and be registered for at least 12 credit hours per semester.

Nonresident student licenses are sold only at Fish and Game headquarters, 11 Hazen Drive, Concord NH 03301, in person or by mail. For more information, call 603-271-3422.

"The new nonresident student license is an opportunity to encourage people who are studying in New Hampshire to participate in outdoor recreational activities," said Fish and Game Legal Coordinator Evan Mulholland. "The rules currently being proposed simply provide details on the application process for this license, which is already available."
