CONCORD, N.H. – The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA) are pleased to announce that Bass Pro Shops (Hooksett, NH) will be hosting a "Spring High School Bass Fishing Seminar" on March 25, 2015.
All student athletes, coaches, and Athletic Directors participating in high school bass fishing are encouraged to attend this event. The event will feature presentations by bass tournament anglers on subjects ranging from spring bass fishing to using current technologies to locate bass. There will also be lure demonstrations in their 13,000 gallon aquarium.
The event date and location is: Wednesday, March 25, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bass Pro Shops, 2 Commerce Drive, Hooksett, NH 03106.
High school bass fishing in New Hampshire is a coordinated effort between the NHIAA and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, with support from NH B.A.S.S. Nation. High school bass tournaments include a strong educational component. Teams have adult mentors who guide them through the process of learning about New Hampshire's aquatic resources and the responsibility that goes along with being anglers.
"We are very happy that Bass Pro Shops recognizes the value of high school bass fishing in New Hampshire and is supporting the student athletes by hosting an event where students have the opportunity to learn from tournament anglers and see the latest in bass fishing tackle," said Gabe Gries, a New Hampshire Fish and Game Fisheries Biologist who also serves on the NHIAA Bass Fishing Committee.
The New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association is a private not for profit organization that has served as the leader of high school athletics for its member schools in New Hampshire since 1947. The student bass fishing tournament is in keeping with the NHIAA goals of adding sports that will have lifelong appeal to student athletes and providing more sports that are coed and inclusive to all populations within our schools.
