On Thursday, September 12, The Outdoor Wire distributed a news release titled “RetailBI Replaces the Legacy CLX Data Program”. As is the case with releases submitted by Corporate Members, we accept representations as factual barring some egregious marketing claims. After conversations with CLX and eComSystems, it seems the “facts” as presented in that release “ain’t necessarily so.” In the interest of accuracy, the following is the response of eCom President and CEO Jon Evans.

In Friday's Top Story, we erroneously referred to "Modern Pioneer" as a Harris Publication. We were wrong. The correct title for the Harris magazine was "The New Pioneer". "Modern Pioneer" is owned by Beckett/Engaged Media, Inc. and is still in operation. Additionally, the Harris shutdown was effective as of 6 p.m. Friday, April 29.

In the Top Story in the Wednesday, June 24, 2015 edition of both The Outdoor and Shooting Wires, we incorrectly referred to the Sabre Defence Industries, Manroy USA sale as an "Article 9 Liquidation". That is an incorrect description of the actual sale. Under an Article 9 sale, the assets of the company are sold in a fair market setting, not the "best bid" scenario of a bankruptcy liquidation. The sale of Sabre Defence's assets is not a bankruptcy liquidation.

In a release running in yesterday's edition, a release from Tac-Con had a dating error regarding their 241 Trigger System. The release said the company would be accepting orders in "December of 2015" - the release should read "December of 2014". No need to wait a year to order- next week will be fine.

BowTech Archery has issued a statement regarding a planned asset purchase agreement with Ross Archery, Inc.. Contrary to their release dated July 19, 2008, BowTech has not purchased or acquired any Ross Archery, Inc. product designs, equipment or inventories, nor assumed any of Ross' liabilities. Andy Ross, the founder of Ross Archery, however, is assisting in the BowTech promotion and design of a new line of bows. BowTech is a wholly owned subsidiary of Savage Sports Corporation.

Recently, The Outdoor and Shooting Wires ran a press release from Guns America regarding a dealer stocking program the internet-based company was creating for gun shoppers. Yesterday we received the following statement from Guns America: 'Retraction: GunsAmerica On Demand and AcuSport ' A misunderstanding was created by a press release from GunsAmerica that implied a partnership between GunsAmerica and AcuSport. There was no partnership agreement and AcuSport will not be a participating distributor in the GunsAmerica Guns on Demand Stocking Dealer Program.'
