The Scholastic Action Shooting Program held its Iowa State Championship May 30-31 at Big Springs Shooting Complex, with 195 entries from 79 athletes across nine disciplines. Champions included Brady Droste and Gwen Wical from Steel Shooters of Traer, Wyatt Grimm from Montezuma Shooting Sports Club, and Porter Snyder from Carroll Action Shooting Sports.
Keith Ditto won the U.S. Open High All Around Championship at the 2026 ATA U.S. Open in Sparta, Illinois, while teammate Dagen Voigtman claimed multiple titles including the White Flyer Doubles Championship and Winchester Singles Championship. Both competitors performed exceptionally with Winchester AA target loads.
Team Beretta achieved multiple podium finishes at the 2026 World Speed Shooting Championship in Talladega, Alabama. Salvador Luna won the Production Division World Championship title with the Beretta APX A1 Full Size and secured second-place finishes in Carry Optics and Limited Divisions. Team Beretta's JJ Racaza won the 2026 Handgun & PCC Puerto Rico Extreme Cup, an IPSC Level III match, competing with the Beretta 92X Performance. This marks his second major Level III victory in 2026, following his earlier Xtreme Open win in Florida.
Hornady shooter Lauryl Akenhead won Top Lady honors at the Colemans Creek NRL Hunter match in Ellerbe, North Carolina, using Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor 140 gr. Match ammo and placing 4th overall in the Open Heavy division.
Over 400 competitors from 30 states participated in the 2026 Zombies in the Heartland 3-Gun match hosted by Hornady and Heartland Public Shooting Park in Grand Island, Nebraska. Hornady-sponsored shooters Andrew Tarver, Dillen Easley, and Dylan Mertens won their respective divisions using Hornady ammunition and equipment.
Federal sponsored shooters Kayle Browning, Brian Burrows, and Derrick Mein qualified for the 2026 U.S. National Trap Team following the Shotgun National Championships at Hillsdale College. Burrows, a 2020 Olympic bronze medalist, is pursuing a spot on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic team.

White achieved 12 impacts across extreme distances up to 2,911 yards using Berger 338 caliber 300 Grain Hybrid OTM Tactical Rifle Bullets and Vihtavuori N568 powder.
James Crofts of Team Berger won the 2026 F-T/R Vihtavuori V2 Series Championship at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico. Using Berger bullets, Vihtavuori powder, and Lapua brass, Crofts will represent the United States at the 2026 F-Class World Championships in Bisley, England.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's Youth Shooting Sports program will host state championship tournaments this weekend at the Jacksonville complex, featuring 64 junior and 64 senior teams competing in single-elimination brackets. Thirty-three perfect shooters, including Austin Anselmi, Stephen Anselmi, and Eli Norton, will compete in Champion of Champions shoot-offs, with senior winners receiving up to $2,500 in scholarship money.
