The 2025 Airing of the Quilts Festival in Gee's Bend generated over $700,000 in visitor spending and drew approximately 2,500 attendees from 26 states and several countries. A survey commissioned by the Alabama Black Belt Adventures Association, Souls Grown Deep, and the Freedom Quilting Bee Legacy found that 97% of festivalgoers made purchases, with post-festival quilt sales totaling over $191,000.

The 2nd Battalion of North Dakota Waterfowl Brigade will be held July 7-11 at the 4-H Center in Washburn. This five-day immersive program for ages 13-17 covers wetland ecosystems, waterfowl biology, shooting skills, and leadership development. Applications are due by March 15.
