TheTreasury Department has released guidelines on how money from the RESTORE Act can be spent. The rules govern a 35% portion of RESTORE Act money that will be divided equally among the Gulf States and 5% dedicated for science. Conservation groups say the guidelines should enable the RESTORE Council to develop a list of funded restoration projects that can be implemented "as soon as possible. There is no time to lose."

Yesterday, Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell joined Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, co-chair of the bipartisan coalition of Mayors for Parks, to announce $43.38 million will be distributed from the Land and Water Conservation Fund to all 50 States, the Territories, and the District of Columbia for state-identified outdoor recreation and conservation projects.

The Arizona State Parks Board authorized eight Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Recreation Fund projects totaling $778,563 at the March 20, 2013 Parks Board meeting. The statewide OHV Program uses funds from the state Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Fund and the federal Recreational Trails Program (motorized portion) to fund projects that meet the high priority needs identified in the 2010 State Trails Plan.
