Cannon Leatherman, of Concord, North Carolina, is the recipient of the 2025 Susie Konkel Ducks Unlimited (DU) National Scholarship. Cannon, who joined the DU Charlotte Youth Varsity Chapter in 2023, was the co-chairman in 2024. Over two years, he helped lead this team by hosting two fundraising events that raised over $65,000 for wetland conservation.

Arkansas students interested in a conservation career may be able to find a little tuition assistance thanks to the colorful wildlife-themed license plates found on cars throughout The Natural State. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Conservation Scholarship Program is accepting applications for the 2025-26 academic year until Dec. 31, 2024.

Nicholas Leon of Coral Gables, Florida, is the recipient of the 2024 Susie Konkel Ducks Unlimited (DU) National Scholarship. Nicholas started the South Florida Varsity Ducks Unlimited Chapter in 2022, recruiting over 140 student volunteers by combining three neighboring schools into the fold. He helped lead this team by hosting three fundraising events that raised over $160,000 for wetlands conservation.

Federal Ammunition recently awarded the 2024 Tom Knapp Memorial Scholarships to two 4-H shooting sports teen ambassadors: Jessica Laffey from Colorado and Kaeli-Gracyn Bourgoyne from Louisiana. The scholarships were presented to the recipients at the National 4H Shooting Sports Invitational held in Grand Island, Nebraska, June 24-28.
