Columbia, MO – The MidwayUSA Foundation wants to continue to assist youth shooting teams even when those teams are unable to be together. Fundraising now will allow teams to focus on competition when they are ready to return to the range. In addition to receiving online donations right through the MidwayUSA Foundation, teams can also create a Peer-to-Peer campaign for their shooting team. This type of crowdfunding allows every team member to create their own fundraising page and share that with their community of friends and family. This can be done at home right from their phone, tablet, or computer. Teams that raise $1,000 using this fundraising tool will earn an additional $1,000 in endowment funds from MidwayUSA Foundation.
“It is incumbent upon all of us to keep our young athletes engaged and excited about the sport they love, while still allowing them to support their team and feed their hunger for competition. Fundraising can fuel that competitive spirit and keep them occupied, motivated, and engaged. We know it can be challenging to navigate fundraising activities in a time like this and we are here to help,” said G. Scott Reynolds, MidwayUSA Foundation Executive Director. Several shooting teams have raised thousands with this tool and a Peer-to-Peer campaign can be set up quickly and easily. Throughout April, any online donation or Peer-to-Peer donation enters that receiving team in a drawing to win $5,000.
Additionally, all donations are matched through the MidwayUSA Foundation Matching Program, funded by Larry and Brenda Potterfield, owners of MidwayUSA. There are $175,000 in matching dollars available for the month of April, a $25,000 increase. College shooting teams can earn even more endowment funds through a partner organization’s increased April matching. ACUI is offering a 5:1 donation match through the end of the month. Shooting teams can use the variety of incentives available to be successful in their fundraising efforts. Every dollar raised will grow a team’s annual cash grant that can assist with expenses when they are back on the range.
Youth shooting teams interested in creating a Peer-to-Peer campaign can contact the MidwayUSA Foundation by emailing info@midwayusafoundation.org, calling 877-375-4570, or contacting their Program Manager.
