Williamsburg, KY – Jackson County Outdoor Club in Jackson, Michigan is open to anyone who enjoys nature and wildlife. The property includes wooded areas, open fields, a clubhouse, and access to Ackerson Lake for enjoyment. The Jackson County Outdoor Club recently held the first 3D regional qualifier for Michigan S3DA. It was a windy cold day in Michigan with rain showers on and off. However, that didn’t stop the many archers and spectators from four different teams from making their way to the range. As you walked the range, you could see everyone was trying to keep themselves and their equipment from getting wet. Some of the groups of archers would huddle together in between shooting. One of the moms even gave up her socks and boots so that an archer could have dry feet to finish the competition.
“Michigan S3DA is growing and watching the bonds form between not only the archers, but the entire families is a sight to see. You see families supporting each other during the lows and cheering each other on during the highs. I can’t wait for more tournaments this season,” said Cara Waite, Michigan S3DA State Coordinator.
The Michigan S3DA 3D and Outdoor Target season is just getting started. The Michigan S3DA program currently has seven teams and are looking to add more competitors and teams as the season progresses. Many of these archers that competed got to experience their first ever 3D tournament. The more seasoned archers did a great job of guiding and helping the new archers.

About Scholastic 3-D Archery
Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic
3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA youth participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Youth members can participate at regional, state and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of youth archers.
