TrueTimber and Palmetto State Armory Partner with South Carolina Waterfowl Association to Provide Camp Woodie Camperships

The South Carolina Waterfowl Association (SCWA) is proud to announce a successful partnership with TrueTimber and Palmetto State Armory to expand access to outdoor education through the Camp Woodie Campership Giveaway.

From December 1 through March 31, customers visiting Palmetto State Armory retail locations across the Southeast had the opportunity to apply for Camp Woodie camperships by scanning QR codes displayed on TrueTimber apparel fixtures. This innovative in-store campaign connected outdoor enthusiasts directly to SCWA's mission of providing hands-on conservation education experiences for youth.

"Programs like Camp Woodie are critical to the future of the outdoors," said TrueTimber CEO Rusty Sellars. "At TrueTimber, we're committed to supporting opportunities that introduce young people to hunting, shooting sports and conservation in a hands-on way. Partnering with SCWA and Palmetto State Armory to help remove barriers and get more kids in the field is something we take pride in, and it's exactly the kind of impact that strengthens our industry for generations to come."

Camp Woodie, SCWA's flagship summer camp program, serves more than 1,500 campers annually, offering immersive outdoor education experiences focused on firearm safety, wildlife conservation, and responsible natural resource stewardship. Through this partnership, deserving youth from across South Carolina and beyond will have the opportunity to attend camp who may not have otherwise had access.

"This partnership represents a powerful alignment of mission and impact," said SCWA CEO David Wielicki. "TrueTimber and Palmetto State Armory share our commitment to growing the next generation of conservationists and outdoor leaders. By meeting families where they already are, in retail environments, we were able to expand awareness and access to Camp Woodie."

The campaign reflects a shared dedication among all three organizations to invest in the future of the outdoors by removing financial barriers and creating meaningful entry points for youth participation.

"Camp Woodie represents summer to my daughters, they looked forward to it every year," said giveaway recipient Laurie Lang. "Our family is so thankful to be a recipient of a Campership from Palmetto State Armory, TrueTimber, and Camp Woodie to help us to continue providing these core memories for our daughters. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!"

Selected recipients will attend Camp Woodie during the 2026 summer season, where they will participate in a wide range of activities including archery, shooting sports, fishing, and conservation education.
