The 5th Annual MidwayUSA Foundation Day of Clays – Minnesota recently wrapped up and proved to be the most successful year, raising over $225,000 for youth shooting teams in and around Minnesota. Held on May 2nd at Rice Creek Hunting & Recreation, the event was so much more than a 100-target sporting clays tournament. Over 350 shooting sports athletes and their families gathered to compete, play side games, take their chance in prize sweepstakes, partake in auctions, and enjoy fellowship during an evening dinner. Once again, Reed's Family Outdoor Outfitters sponsored the event with the help of additional local sponsors.

"This is such a cool event that would not be possible without the support of Reed's Family Outdoor Outfitters and so many sponsors and community members. To see how this event has grown in 5 years is truly amazing," said David Grell, MidwayUSA Foundation Program Manager. "It's very unique to have a sporting clays tournament that allows every registration to benefit the youth shooting team of the entrant's choice AND be matched dollar for dollar!"
Thanks to MidwayUSA Foundation's donation-matching program, funded by Larry and Brenda Potterfield, every youth shooting team endowment donation is matched. This allows Day of Clays participants to double their impact. In total, 42 youth shooting teams benefited from this event, with the majority being Minnesota teams.

As youth shooting sport teams grow their MidwayUSA Foundation endowment, they earn a larger cash grant to support team expenses. These grants are available every year, forever. Reducing the financial burden of shooting sports teams allows more youth to participate, compete, and practice. Those wanting to assist their local youth shooting team can donate to that team's endowment on MidwayUSA Foundation's website. Currently, the Foundation funds approximately 2,600 teams.
