Inaugural Cav. Ugo Gussalli Beretta Skeet Scholarship to be Presented at 2020 SCTP Nationals

Beretta USA To Present Inaugural Cav. Ugo Gussalli Beretta Skeet Scholarship at 2020 SCTP Nationals

(Accokeek, MD) At the culmination of this week’s 2020 SCTP National Championship, Beretta USA will be presenting its inaugural Cav. Ugo Gussalli Beretta Skeet Scholarship to a top performing skeet athlete.

This annual scholarship will be awarded to the top athlete (either male or female) in the American Skeet competition competing with a Beretta shotgun. The winner must be a high school aged athlete and have registered with SCTP prior to the start of the skeet event.

Once announced, the winner will be presented with the scholarship trophy and a brand new 694 over-and-under shotgun as well as a personalized letter from Cav. Ugo Gussalli Beretta, which will be mailed after the competition has concluded. Created specifically for clay shooting, the new Beretta 694 over-and-under platform was designed and tested in collaboration with the Beretta Shooting Team. The 694 features redesigned ergonomics that reduce visual obstacles in the field of view when shouldering the gun, a slightly decreased drop, improved checkering on the safety, and a wider comb for an improved face placement regardless of the shooting position. The 694 is now available in a 12 gauge model with 30” or 32” barrels.

Named after Cav. Ugo Gussalli Beretta, the current President of Beretta USA, this inaugural scholarship showcases our company’s commitment to supporting youth shooters and our admiration for the level of focus, dedication, and sportsmanship that the shooting sports field requires. During his tenure as president, Cav. Ugo Gussalli Beretta has long since emphasized the need to foster support for the next generation of competition shooters through critical partnerships with organizations such as SCTP.

“Beretta USA is proud to be associated with this venerable academic and sports development program that fosters not only the love of the shooting sports, but also a dedication to excellence both in the classroom and on the field. The Beretta family has always strived to ensure that they offer a breadth of products that appeal to all age groups and shooting endeavors. We are especially proud to have the opportunity to support youth shooters as they are the next generation to continue the legacy of excellence in the shooting sports field. We wish all of the competitors good luck and continued success in their shooting sports and academic careers,” Brenda Morgal, Marketing Operations and Events Manager, said.
