FRANKFORT, Ky. - Ballard Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Ballard County continues to remain closed to waterfowl hunting through Dec. 19 due to flooding. Boatwright WMA will remain open under flood conditions.
The Ohio River is still at flood stage with more rain expected this week. Officials with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources will reevaluate conditions next week to determine whether Ballard can reopen.
Under flood conditions at Boatwright WMA, hunters use boats to access hunting sites instead of walk-in access.
