Smith & Wesson, Caspian, and Orca Sign On to Support Vermont's Junior Shooting Sports

BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Vermont State Rifle and Pistol Association (VSRPA) and the Lamoille Valley Fish and Game Club announced that Smith & Wesson, Caspian Arms, and Orca Coolers are joining Glock and Warne Scope Mounts as sponsors of the annual Rimfire Steel Match Fundraiser to support junior shooting sports in Vermont.

The Rimfire Steel Match Fundraiser will take place Saturday, September 28, at the Lamoille Valley Fish and Game Club in Morrisville, Vermont.

Thanks to sponsor donations, funds raised at the match will go to support the Vermont Junior Shooting Sports Association and the University of Vermont Shooting Sports Club. Members of the UVM Shooting Sports Club's teams - known as the Gun Cats - will staff the match as well as serve as range officers. https://mail.google.com/mail/images/cleardot.gif

The Gun Cats are on the rise in collegiate shooting with the pistol team taking top honors at last year's Scholastic Pistol Program National Championship at Fort Benning, Georgia. This year's fundraiser will help send UVM shooters back to Fort Benning to defend their title.

Those interested in participating in the Annual Rimfire Steel Match Fundraiser can download the match application (http://vsrpa.org/uvm_match_reg_Fall_2013.pdf). The entry fee prior to September 20 is $25 for adults and $10 for kids, and after the 20th it's $30 and $15. Shooter check-in and last minute registration will begin at 8:30am with first shots fired scheduled for 9:30am.

The match is a .22LR pistol only competition with both an Open and Limited division. Prizes will be awarded for High Junior, High Lady, and High Overall in each division.

For more information, or to sponsor the match, please contact Michael MacDuff, VSRPA's Vice-President of Handgun Sports, at vtriflepistol@gmail.com.
