Ruger’s Super GP100 9mm in Feb. GUNS

Ruger’s “Do-Everything Gun” — Super GP100 9mm — Tops Feb. GUNS

“This gun is a shooter, and that’s a fact,” declares Roy Huntington of Ruger’s Super GP100 9mm featured in the February issue of GUNS Magazine.

He continues, “I’m not a competitor in today’s rapid-fire world, but know my way around a round-gun pretty well. I found I could shoot this ‘Super’ gun as fast as I could pull the trigger smoothly and things stayed right where they should have stayed. The gun’s weight, persuasive action and overall ergonomics work hand-in-hand, making the chore of hitting the target a joy to behold. I kept smiling — except when I was laughing out loud.”

Offering what other AR-style firearms simply can’t, Jeremy D. Clough explains how the Aptus rifle (Latin for “ready”) from DRD Tactical combines the elements of the AR platform with a patented quick-detach barrel and recoil system to deliver exceptionally reliability, accuracy, quick caliber-change capability and compactness compared to traditional ARs. Clough notes: “The Aptus is a very well thought out package. All this practicality is achieved while delivering accuracy more than adequate for anything this gun is likely to be used for.”

A Savage Arms MSR 15 Recon 2.0 with a Primary Arms scope and mount is the top prize in February’s Firearms Giveaway Package. The rifle is chambered in .223 Rem./5.56 NATO and features a free-float M-LOK handguard and upgraded 16" barrel. The Primary Arms GLx 2.5-10x24 riflescope has a 4x magnification range, and the 30mm cantilever scope mount pushes the optic forward over 2" to ensure eye relief. The package is valued at nearly $1,750, and readers are encouraged to enter the free drawing online at GUNSMagazine.com/giveaways.

February GUNS implores readers to go ahead and treat themselves in “You Deserve A Plinker!” Jeff “Tank” Hoover’s Think Tank installment suggests everyone should have one special gun, especially a .22 LR. For those who love Western shows, movies, books and shooting Old West guns, Alan “Cholla” Garbers provides an introduction to Cowboy Action Shooting in “Saddle Up For Fun!” And before booking a guided hunting trip, Dave Anderson asks if you’re really ready by revealing mistakes sure to make a guide cringe in the Rifles column.
