Baton Rouge, La.—Lipsey’s, a nationally renowned firearms distributor, began the month of April with the promotion of President, Flint Virgets, to the position of Executive Industry Director. Additionally, current Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Mark Emonet, was appointed President and will also maintain his role as CFO.
Virgets, a 35-year veteran of Lipsey’s and longest-tenured employee, elevates to a newly created position focused on the strategic enhancement of both dealer and manufacturer partnerships. He has served in multiple positions, including customer service, sales management, buyer, and most recently, President. The role of Executive Industry Director will allow Flint to further facilitate, expand, and cultivate Lipsey’s reach and relationships on every level of the industry.
Emonet has led many operational roles over his span of 23 years at Lipsey’s. His many contributions have included the oversight of building construction, contract negotiations, charitable outreach, logistics management, and company finance. Mark’s experience transitions naturally into his new role of President and CFO where he will continue to mentor, nurture company culture, and oversee all day-to-day operations.
The announcement came during Lipsey’s March Madness company wrap-up meeting last week. Through applause came encouraging words from both Flint and Mark regarding the future of the company and the respect they have for the Lipsey family and one another. During the meeting, Mark Emonet commented, “In the end, this is what it is all about. We work hard for our customers, our partners, and each other so that we can go home each day and be proud of what we do and who we are.” Flint Virgets added, “This group is second to none, and I feel like there’s nothing we can’t accomplish together. It’s a treat to have been here for so long and watch this team grow. I’m thankful for every moment and can’t wait to see what’s ahead for us.”
Laurie Lipsey, Chairwoman and CEO, was excited to announce the executive appointments during Lipsey’s company meeting. “The promotion of Flint and Mark is such a pleasure for my father, Richard Lipsey, and me. We’ve all grown in this business together like family. We wanted to honor these two men at the pinnacle of their careers for their past and future contributions which have proven invaluable.”
