POOLER, GA. – This February, the Savannah community comes together to honor fallen U.S. Marshals Service Deputy Commander Patrick Carothers, who passed away in the line of duty while attempting to serve a warrant on Nov. 18, 2016. The memorial event will support the U.S. Marshals Survivors Benefit Fund and will be hosted at Molly MacPherson's in downtown Savannah, Ga. on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 6 to 10 p.m.
The U.S. Marshals Service Pipe and Drum band will be in attendance, and there will be a raffle with all proceeds being donated to the fund. The event is open to the public and donations are welcome.
To help lend support to the fund and to honor Deputy Commander Carothers, locally-based Blue Force Gear®, the designer and manufacturer of the world's finest weapon slings and tactical equipment, has committed donations and encourages other local and industry businesses to contribute.

The U.S. Marshals Survivors Benefit Fund was founded in 2012 in response to the devastating loss of 10 Deputy and Special Deputy U.S. Marshals in 2011. It is a private nonprofit corporation formed exclusively for charitable and educational disbursements of its fund to the surviving family members of active U.S. Marshals, Deputy U.S. Marshals, Marshals Service employees, and Special Deputy U.S. Marshals who are killed in the line of duty.
