Marty and Gina McClure Named Regional Coordinators for Tennessee S3DA

Marty and Gina McClure have been named as Regional Coordinators for Tennessee S3DA. They will oversee the development and operations of S3DA throughout West Tennessee, focusing on recruiting additional S3DA coaches and teams, assisting new teams with early development, and providing support to existing teams in the region. Marty and Gina will draw on their extensive professional and personal experiences to inspire and guide the next generation. Their dedication and passion for archery and youth development will undoubtedly strengthen the S3DA community in West Tennessee.

Marty and Gina McClure currently reside in Martin, Tennessee with their daughter, Molly. Gina is the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student and Residential Life at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Gina earned two degrees from UT Martin and has been involved with student life on campus since 1994. Marty is the owner of McClure Tree Service. Marty has been working in the tree service industry for the past eleven years. In July 2023, he was able to transition to full-time tree service upon his retirement from the Martin Police Department where he served as a police officer for 25 years. As a side hobby, Marty has owned a small archery shop for the past fifteen years. The family enjoys horseback riding, archery, sports, and outdoor activities.

The McClures were introduced to the S3DA program by their next-door neighbor, Blaze Minton. Their involvement in S3DA began in January 2021 when Molly started competing in the program. Marty later became an assistant archery coach for the Inside Out S3DA Archers and the family attended most regional, state, and national competitions.

Gina said, “We decided to take on this role as Regional Coordinators because we want to assist and give back to an organization that has given so much to our daughter and other youth. At each tournament, I see on the faces of our youth the positive impact this experience is providing. The opportunity to compete is great but the ability for our youth to connect and make life-long friends across the state is so valuable.”

About Scholastic 3-D Archery

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic

3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA youth participate in 3D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Youth members can participate at regional, state and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of youth archers.
