NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation®(NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms industry, is pleased to announce that it has awarded its highest Five-Star rating for range excellence to both of Shooters World’s two new locations in central Florida. Shooters World’s new second location is located in The Villages, about a 90-minute drive north from Shooters World’s original location in Tampa, while its third new enterprise has its footprint in Orlando. Orlando entertained 78 million visitors in 2018 and was rated the No. 1 travel destination in the U.S, according to the Visit Orlando Tourism organization.

The 52,000-square-foot Villages location sports a total of 39 shooting lanes: 20 at 15 yards, 10 and 25 yards and nine 100-yard lanes. The two-story, 74,000-square-foot Orlando range has an impressive 58 lanes: 20 each at 15 and 25 yards and nine lanes each at 50 and 100 yards. At these two newest Shooters World locations, the 100-yard ranges are intended for rifle fire and can handle calibers up to .50 BMG.

Both new facilities offer a wide variety of personal and group instruction that run the gamut from basic safety and concealed carry to specialized classes such as defensive carbine and shotgun training, introduction to AR-15s and introduction to action shooting sports. A multi-tiered membership program was designed to meet the needs of every individual and budget, and Shooters World even offers a unique one-month trial membership that encourages new members to utilize the facility and realize its many benefits before committing to a full year.

As it is with the original location in Tampa, Shooters World’s new ranges in Orlando and The Villages are NFA Class III dealers. Both also provide gunsmithing services and firearms appraisals, and each does a robust business in FFL transfers. A wealth of gear and accessories in each location’s pro shops meet the needs and wants of Florida’s target shooters and hunters, and the thousands of firearms in stock, both new and certified pre-owned, are backed by Shooters World’s own lifetime warranty.

“Shooters World has gone above and beyond in providing quality products, services and experiences that create lasting memories for the thousands of existing target shooters, hunters and the newcomers their introducing,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Retail and Range Business Development. “We could not be happier to see this company expand across this gun-friendly state and maintain the level of quality and customer service we first saw in its Tampa facility. It is a great achievement to gain a Five-Star rating, and it’s our pleasure to see all three of Shooters World’s facilities earn Five-Star ratings. Well done, Shooters World.”

“All of us at Shooters World are honored and thankful to receive a Five-Star range certification and award for both of our new stores in Orlando and The Villages,” said Bing Kearney, Shooters World owner. “As Shooters World has grown to the three distinctive Five-Star-rated facilities we are today, we’ve kept our mission of providing the world’s greatest firearms experience top of mind. By keeping our customers, employees and vendors safety and satisfaction the top priority, our business continues to embrace change that improves our facilities and services. This dedication to excellence, along with our superior customer service, makes for a stellar, family-friendly experience for all of our guests. On behalf of the entire Shooters World Team, thank you to the National Shooting Sports Foundation for the recognition of the Five-Star range certification and awards for all three of our Shooters World facilities.

NSSF’s highly respected Star-Rating Range Program works to encourage ranges of all sizes and locations to excel. Applying for rating requires answering a comprehensive questionnaire and business owner self-evaluation of the facilities, staff, community outreach and other criteria. Ranges that appear to meet the criteria for Four- or Five-Star rating receive an on-site evaluation by NSSF staff. NSSF member ranges that merit a Three-Star rating are recognized for being a part of the Star-Rating range family and are provided guidance to improve their facilities and achieve the higher two ratings.
