Williamsburg, KY – Since the Scholastic 3-D Archery program held its very first 3D National Championship with less than 200 archers from only Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois competing, the program has exploded over the past ten years and now has more than thirty active state chapters. Thirteen states will look to host their S3DA 3D State Championship this coming weekend and with twenty-three states total hosting a 3D State Championship for the 2023 competition season. Every archer that competes in a 3D State Championship will qualify to compete at the upcoming 11th annual S3DA Eastern 3D National Championship set to take place in beautiful, Rend Lake, Illinois on June 15th-18th, 2023. Hundreds of archers from eighteen states are expected to travel to the area to compete for their chance to become a “National Champion”.
The S3DA Eastern 3D National Championship will feature shoot-downs for each class in the youth and young adult age divisions and there will be on-site raffles with quality archery equipment from various archery businesses and sponsoring organizations. There will be several special activities available for archers and their families which include the 3D practice range, Delta McKenzie Bowhunter Challenge, The Heath McDonald Long Shot Challenge, S3DA Conservation booth, Camo the Conservation Clown, and much, much more! Many vendors will be on-site to sell their products and equipment to archers and their families, as well as food vendors.
S3DA Executive Director, Holly Helton says, “We’re very excited to be hosting the S3DA Eastern 3D National Championship in Rend Lake again this year. This is a top-notch facility, and the staff go above and beyond to make sure our event runs smoothly. Rend Lake is a gorgeous vacation destination with a plethora of activities from fishing to camping in the area so we encourage our families to take advantage of the opportunity. We look forward to seeing everyone for another incredible S3DA national event.”

About Scholastic 3-D Archery
Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic
3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA youth participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Youth members can participate at regional, state and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of youth archers.
