WASHINGTON – On Thursday, Sept. 27, Senator Jon Tester (D-MT), Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA-08) and a group of outdoor recreation and conservation leaders will hold a press call to discuss the Land and Water Conservation Fund, set to expire on Sept. 30, 2018. The speakers will highlight the importance of the LWCF for hunters and anglers, the veteran community, conservation efforts and the American economy.
LWCF has funded tens of thousands of conservation and public access sites, from national parks to local ballfields. Right now, the future of thousands more hangs in the balance. Unless Congress acts immediately, the LWCF will expire this Sunday and America’s great outdoor heritage could be irreparably harmed.
The press call includes remarks by lawmakers and distinguished advocates, including:
- Senator Jon Tester (D-MT)
- Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA-08)
- Land Tawney, President/CEO, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers
- Garett Reppenhagen, Rocky Mountain Director, Vet Voice Foundation
- Tom Cors, Director of Lands and U.S. Government Relations, The Nature Conservancy
