In an effort to continue expanding, enhancing, and perpetuating youth shooting sports activities, the MidwayUSA Foundation has appointed John Linquist to the new position of Relationship Manager. In his new role, John will pursue opportunities for industry-leading businesses to join MidwayUSA Foundation in sustaining and growing youth shooting sports.
With over 14 years in the outdoor industry, John’s experience, combined with his passion for shooting and hunting, makes him the perfect candidate. “I’m grateful to be a part of the MidwayUSA Foundation and am incredibly proud of what this Foundation does for youth shooting sports. Its purpose and mission have positively impacted all of us within the shooting sports community and beyond. Through that effort, today’s youth have more shooting sports opportunities available than any other time in American history,” he stated. As the Relationship Manager, John will manage the Foundation’s new Sponsorship program. This program allows supporters and industry-leading businesses to contribute and promote the Foundation’s mission through various sponsorship levels.
John will also oversee the Foundation’s new Giving Opportunities program, which allows individuals and organizations with a passion for youth shooting sports the chance to leave a legacy through planned giving and estate planning, as well as offering other non-traditional ways to give. The Foundation offers a variety of endowments to allow donors or sponsors to target their donations as they see fit to support youth shooting sports. In addition to over 2,800 youth shooting team endowments and 60 organizational endowments, the Foundation has special purpose programs to enhance its mission. Those initiatives include a Coach Training and a Range Development endowment, a Foundation Forever Endowment that will provide operating funds in perpetuity, and a matching fund to ensure the Foundation is always able to match donations.
John continued, “In my new role, I’m looking forward to building relationships with individuals and industry leaders. Whether companies want to elevate their brand visibility or individuals need to plan their personal estate, I can help ensure every single donation to the MidwayUSA Foundation leaves a legacy and provides long term stability for youth shooting sports…forever.” Anyone interested in learning about sponsorships, planned giving, or other programs offered by the MidwayUSA Foundation can contact John Linquist by phone (573-219-7688) or email (jlinquist@midwayusafoundation.org).
John’s previous role of the Northwest Program Manager will be filled by Ashley Petersen, who is new to the Foundation. Ashley is a product of youth shooting sports, shooting rifle and competing with the University of Kentucky; she was also a 2014 Olympic team member, and previously worked at the U.S. Olympic Training Center (OTC) and at Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). Ashley's Program Manager role began August 17.
