Armasight, a leader in thermal and night vision technology, has released a comprehensive firmware update across several of its top thermal optics platforms, including the Contractor 320 LITE, Commander, Operator, Warden, Collector 640, Jockey 640 and Contractor 640 Series. These updates deliver enhanced visual performance, smoother image processing, and key operational improvements designed to elevate the end-user experience.

April 2025 Firmware Update Highlights

Contractor 320 LITE: v.4045

• Adjusted gain curve to reduce the bleaching and blooming effect in high-contrast environments, improving target identification.
• Integrated Single Frame Flat Field correction for improved sensor accuracy.
• Smoothed image rendering for better visual quality in outdoor settings.
• Updated enhancement “default” values—Factory Reset is recommended after installing this update.

Commander / Operator / Warden: v.5122

• Gain curve tuning reduces bleaching and blooming in high-contrast scenes.
• Sensor detection rebalanced for improved object recognition in low-contrast environments, optimized for outdoor conditions.

Collector 640 / Jockey 640: v.5122

• Resolved issue causing delays after pressing the power button—startup is now faster and more reliable.
• Improved thermal sensor function reduces shutter/NUC frequency for more stable imaging.
• Menu bug fixes prevent erratic behavior and improve overall interface responsiveness.
• Gain curve adjustment enhances performance in high-contrast settings, reducing bleaching and blooming effects.

Contractor 640 Core Software: v.5145

• Gain curve adjusted to reduce the intensity of bleaching and blooming effect that was caused by high contrasting environments or horizons.
• Single Frame Flat Field correction implemented internally with new FW to improve sensor readings.
• Image was smoothed out to give users a better visual experience for outdoor settings.

Contractor 640 4.8-19.2x75mm System Software: v.3644

• Stadia-metric range finder now reads correct and more accurate distances.
