Columbia, MO – MidwayUSA Foundation is preparing for its most substantial fundraising day of the year, Giving Tuesday. This year, the public charity that funds America’s youth shooting teams hopes to raise $500,000 in just one day. Giving Tuesday is December 3, the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Every tax-deductible donation made to a youth shooting team endowment will be matched, thanks to Larry and Brenda Potterfield.
In addition to matching donations, MidwayUSA Foundation is offering $80,000 in special incentives to award participating teams. The top five donation-earning teams will earn additional endowment funds ($15,000/$12,500/$10,000/$7,500/$5,000) and all other teams that receive a donation on Giving Tuesday, December 3, will be entered to win $1,000 through a random draw. New this year, donors have the chance to win an exclusive Gold Series Early Italian Renaissance Collection, generously provided by SK Guns. Only 25 complete Gold Series sets have been produced, featuring four specially engraved Springfield 1911 pistols with consecutive serial numbers and matching edition numbers with an estimated value of $15,000. For every $1,000 contribution, donors will be entered to win the SK Guns set.
“We are honored to have a special partnership with SK Guns and are confident this generous product sponsorship will help us achieve our goal of raising $500,000 on Giving Tuesday. The Gold Series 1911 set is exquisite and proves SK Guns is committed to the future of youth shooting sports,” explained G. Scott Reynolds, MidwayUSA Foundation Executive Director. He added, “On behalf of the thousands of youth shooting sports athletes MidwayUSA Foundation assists, we ask for your support on December 3.”
A MidwayUSA Foundation endowment provides an annual cash grant to cover the myriad of expenses that youth shooting programs incur. Covering the cost of ammunition, competition fees, targets, or travel can allow more young athletes the chance to participate in shooting sports. Often, shooting sports athletes become future hunters and conservationists, as well. Donors can donate directly to their favorite team on the MidwayUSA Foundation website and be sure that 100% of their donations will benefit the endowment of their choice because no portion is used to cover operating expenses, thanks to the generosity of Larry and Brenda Potterfield.
