Hunters Flock to Ringle, WI in Support of Voting

Hunt The Vote™.org, a project of Hunter Nation Foundation, a national organization, rolled into Ringle, WI to address the importance of voter registration and voting among hunters and lovers of the outdoor lifestyle. It was Hunt The Vote’s first ever live event and a crowd of over 1,500 attended the open-air event at Q&Z Expo Center.

Hunter Nation Foundation’s President and CEO, Luke Hilgemann kicked off the event by asking the audience for a show of hands from those who vote regularly. He went on to challenge each and every attendee to sign Hunt The Vote’s on-line pledge at HuntTheVote.org.

“This was the first of many similar events, big and small, we plan to host around the country in key states where hunters have not been registering or turning out to vote.” Hilgemann added. “We simply can’t sit on the sidelines any longer”.

The event’s emcee, Keith Mark, inspired the crowd with a reading of a prayer he co-wrote with Ted Nugent, “God Made A Hunter”. Mark, founder of Hunter Nation Foundation, said, “This is the first step of seeing our dream come true, the dream of seeing hunters come together to ensure our lifestyle is protected.”

The event featured headliner, Ted Nugent and his unique brand of storytelling and motivation. Before closing the show, Nugent broke out a made-in-Wisconsin guitar and surprised the crowd with two classic tracks from his career of nearly six decades.

“HuntTheVote.org, it’s so simple, even guitar players can do it.” Ted Nugent said from the stage. “Be a force to get America back on track. The hunters of Wisconsin can and must do it - are you with me?”

The evening’s entertainment began with local favorite, The Jerry Schmitt Band playing a full set of lively covers and original music. They were followed on stage by Brittany Jill, a Wisconsin native who is a celebrity in the hunting world with a vast social media following. She spoke of growing up with the outdoor lifestyle and her love of hunting. She addressed the need for hunters to register and vote to ensure their voices are heard and their rights protected.

“Hunt the Vote is a non-partisan, non-political effort to engage American hunters and supporters of traditional American values to become regular participants in our democracy by voting” Mark concluded. “Hunt the Vote has gathered more than 25,000 pledge signers to date and has a goal of activating hundreds of thousands of hunters across the country to vote their values at the ballot box this fall and beyond.”
