Time is running out for hunters who want a chance to hunt moose in Maine this fall. The deadline to apply in the Maine moose lottery is Wednesday, May 15th at 11:59. Hunters can apply online for one of the over 4,000 moose hunting permits that will be available for the fall of 2024.

Known as the hunt of a lifetime, last year over 70,000 people applied for a chance to hunt moose in Maine. This year, there are 4,105 moose permits available to hunters.

The 2024 moose lottery drawing will be in the town of Fort Kent on Saturday, June 15th. The town is planning an array of activities to coincide with the lottery drawing, with more details to be posted on their website soon.
