CCA is excited to announce that Governor DeSantis signed HB 1135 which creates the new CCA Florida Conserve Florida Fisheries specialty license plate. The law creating this plate becomes effective October 1, 2020. This beautifully designed CCA sponsored plate will be available for reservation and purchase soon. The Conserve Florida Fisheries plate design was a collaborative effort by Tampa Bay fishing guide and CCA member Captain Mike Goodwine and graphic designer Jesse Starr. We want to thank them for their work and the sponsors State Rep. JW Grant (Tampa) and Senator Aaron Bean (Jacksonville), and the Florida Legislature.
The legislation requires that all new tags must have pre-sales of 3,000 plates before mass production and distribution by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. This means that CCA Florida must secure prepaid reservations/vouchers before production and distribution by the State. We are working diligently with the State and County Tax Collectors to create an efficient system for reservations and the collection of fees, and we will be announcing details very soon. You may reserve one or multiple tags for your family or business. Individuals who currently have a Florida “Vanity Plate” may transfer that to the new license plate. CCA Florida will provide updates as developed to those who indicate their interest on the website.
The new plates will be available to all CCA members and Florida residents. Individual, business and fleet purchases will be available. The funds generated from the specialty fee will be dedicated and utilized to further habitat projects that CCA Florida creates or supports and to protect our coastal resources and the sustainability of Florida's marine life. The Florida specialty fee is $25.00 plus $8.00 in state fees. Your regular tag fee also applies.
