Self-Titled Debut EP on Cold River Records

NASHVILLE – Popular, un-sweet-tea-toting star of “Duck Dynasty” Uncle Si Robertson has formed a country group Uncle Si & The Sicotics and has released a self-titled collection of songs on Cold River Records, which is available now.

The EP is the brainchild of Uncle Si, his daughter-in-law Marsha Robertson, and creative force Bridgette Tatum (writer of Jason Aldean’s two-week No. 1 “She’s Country”). And like the Louisiana native, Uncle Si & The Sicotics is a tasty gumbo of country music, hip hop beats, rock ‘n’ roll, and Southern gospel capturing Si’s wit, wisdom, and wry observations on popular culture.

“It’s the music we were all raised on from back-porch picking to roadhouse guitar riffs,” said Tatum, who produced and co-wrote the project with Uncle Si and Robertson along with being an integral part of the engaging trio. “It is music that tells a story about family, faith, and fun.”

As unpredictable as the cantankerous star, you never know what’s gonna’ happen because they don’t know what’s gonna’ happen from who will sit in with the band to what Uncle Si is going to say next.

“We got a band Randy what we needs now is a payin’ gig,” exclaimed Uncle Si, making a hysterical reference to the 1996 Billy Bob Thornton movie Sling Blade.

Fans are clamoring for a chance to experience Uncle Si & The Sicotics, who have assembled a live show that encompasses something for everybody with the same energetic, mind-blowing experience that is captured on the EP. It’s a journey through music with straightjackets, rubber chickens, rhinestones, and electric entertainment.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Uncle Si was born Silas Merritt Robertson. He and his brother Phil Robertson where the bearded patriarchs of the family behind the Duck Commander brand, a company specializing in the sale of hunting gear and the companion reality series on A&E “Duck Dynasty.”

Uncle Si & The Sicotics formed in late 2016 and had an immediate chemistry that fans liken to Jerry Reed, Ray Stevens mixed with a little Aldean. In fact, the first song Tatum wrote with Uncle Si and Robertson was inspired by her allergy to duck feathers.

And if you are wondering where their musical influences come from: Uncle Si's favorite karaoke song to sing is the George Jones classic "He Stopped Loving Her Today”; Tatum’s favorite is “Me and Bobby McGee”; and Robertson, who is married to Uncle Si’s son, Scott, wails “Last Dance” by Donna Summer.

And like the trio, Uncle Si & The Sicotics is a good hearted, good time.
