Blackpowder Products, Inc. Changes Its Trade Name To BPI Outdoors

Blackpowder Products, Inc., owner of the CVA, Bergara, PowerBelt, DuraSight, and Quake brands, announced Wednesday that it will begin operating under the new trade name of BPI OUTDOORS.

"Given the large number of products that we now offer which are not muzzleloader related, the old name really just did not suit us anymore," said company CEO Dudley McGarity. "However, we wanted to keep the BPI in the new name, as we do have equity in those initials - and people seeking to find us will still recognize us. So, we settled on BPI Outdoors, which should give us all the latitude we need as we continue to expand our product offerings and brands," he further explained.

Blackpowder Products, Inc. was formed in 1999 as the parent corporation for the CVA and PowerBelt brands - whose product lines at the time consisted only of black powder guns, accessories, and projectiles. By 2005, the CVA brand had moved beyond muzzleloaders and was offering center- fire single shot rifles. In 2006 the Bergara and Quake brands were added to the BPI stable - Bergara specializing in OEM and after-market precision barrels, production center-fire rifles, and custom center-fire rifles, and Quake producing rifle slings, optic covers, and other hunting and shooting related accessories.
