NSSF Program Hunting Works for America Expands in Southern U.S.

Hunting Works For Alabama becomes newest state chapter to join award-winning program

MONTGOMERY, Ala.-The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms industry, is proud to announce that the Hunting Works For America footprint has grown again and now includes a state chapter in Alabama. The newly formed Hunting Works For Alabama partnership has nearly 50 partner organizations and will be adding dozens more in the weeks and months to come. Along with current state chapters in Arizona, Colorado, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Oregon, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin, Hunting Works For Alabama is the 13th chapter to be added to the ranks of the award winning program.

Hunting Works For Alabama launched today with a press conference at Walter Craig's Sportsman's HQ in Montgomery and is co-chaired by Tim Wood, general manager of the Central Alabama Farmers Cooperative, David Dexter, principal at NAI Mobile, Pam Swanner, director of Alabama Black Belt Adventures and Grant Lynch, chairman of the Talladega Superspeedway.

"We are extremely excited to bring a state chapter of Hunting Works For America to Alabama. The South has a long tradition of hunting. With some of the most abundant wildlife in North America and its huge tracts of public land it was imperative that we expand the Hunting Works footprint here. We are looking forward to working with and on behalf of Alabama's half a million hunters," said Chris Dolnack, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for NSSF. "The Hunting Works program is meant to highlight the immense economic contributions hunting has on our state economies as well as the economic support hunters provide to a state's conservation efforts. In Alabama alone hunters spend $913 million annually, support more than 27,000 jobs and contribute millions of dollars to Alabama's conservation efforts."

With over 1,600 partner organizations across the country, Hunting Works For America state chapters have become an overwhelming voice for the industry and are the go to resource for local media by providing statistics about the economic impact of hunting through its network of state-level stakeholders. Hunting Works For America state chapters also provide briefings to elected and appointed state officials, and outreach to non-traditional allies and the general public.

Hunting Works For America launched in 2010 with just three state chapters, Hunting Works For Arizona, Hunting Works For Minnesota and Hunting Works For North Dakota. Subsequent states have been chosen based on a number of factors including resident and non-resident hunter numbers as well as hunting's role or impact on the state's economy.

Becoming a member of Hunting Works For Alabama is absolutely free of charge so please visit www.HuntingWorksforAL.com to learn more about how to become a partner and the program including leadership, partners, social media and involvement opportunities.
