Passion & Solidarity Apparent in New Brotherhood Outdoors Episodes

Arizona fire fighter chases big Kentucky whitetails and homegrown bourbon in season 9, episode 1

Franklin, TN — As the Union Sportsmen's Alliance (USA) celebrates a decade of connecting union members through conservation, its Brotherhood Outdoors TV series kicks off its ninth season with a new look and feel, returning to Sportsman Channel on Sundays at 11 a.m. ET beginning July 2.

The season features a new, innovative format without a formal host. Each episode will follow different union members as they share their personal histories and experiences before heading out on memory-making hunts and fishing excursions across the country. It's authentic commentary from the ones who have actually lived it.

First in the season's lineup is Jon Scaife, an Arizona fire fighter and member of the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 3690. Scaife did not follow a boyhood dream of riding in a big red truck, but his challenging life experiences along with family influences helped steer his path to the career he takes great pride in. As he shares his story, Scaife travels to Kentucky for a shot at a whitetail—and a sip of small batch bourbon.

This format facelift is thanks to the brains behind television powerhouse Rusted Rooster Media. Founded and operated by brothers Chris and Casey Keefer, Rusted Rooster also produces TV shows Rival Wild and Dropped for both The Sportsman Channel and Outdoor Channel. The production house works with such industry giants as Buck Knives, PSE and Winchester.

"Television offers our organization a way to highlight our members' dedication to their skills, families and hunting and fishing passions," said Scott Vance, CEO and executive director, USA. "Rusted Rooster has a proven track record in outdoor television production and a vision that, I believe, will elevate Brotherhood Outdoors to a new level of excellence in television."

The Rooster team produced nine original episodes of Brotherhood Outdoors that will air during the third and fourth quarters of 2017. Nine episodes are also slated for 2018.

"Brotherhood Outdoors is such a unique concept," said Chris Keefer. "We have great things in store as we work to make each episode a personalized cinematic story for each guest. We really want viewers to identify with the people on the show and see quality hunting and fishing trips."
