The Michigan Department of Natural Resources Pontiac Lake shooting range in Oakland County will close Wednesday, Aug. 16, for lead reclamation work, which will continue through most of September.

• The rifle/pistol range will be closed from Thursday, Aug. 17, to approximately Wednesday, Aug. 23.


• The shotgun trap range will be closed from Thursday, Aug. 17, to approximately Thursday, Sept.  21.

Pontiac Lake's archery and knife-throwing ranges will remain open during the project.

The DNR Pontiac Lake shooting range is located at 7800 Gale Road in Waterford, inside Pontiac Lake Recreation Area.
