Popticals Pro Skylar Hamilton Recaps His Finish at Kentucky Lake

Bassmaster Elite Series Angler Skylar Hamilton is no stranger to sight fishing in less than ideal conditions. His strong 28th place finish on Lake Martin earlier in the season was under a revolving door of rainy, sunny and foggy weather. His most recent Elite Series tournament on Kentucky Lake offered more favorable conditions, but the dirty water still posed a challenge for sight fishing. "I fished the shad spawn first thing in the morning each day. When that ended I went looking for bedding fish, which was a big key for me because I had a lot of them to myself because they were so hard to see."

Crediting his eye wear, Popticals sunglasses, Hamilton explained why he could spot the fish other's couldn't. "I utilized my PopStar Popticals sunglasses. Brown NYDEF™ lenses, Carl Zeiss lenses. I'm telling you, if it weren't for those brown lenses, I don't know if I would have seen a lot of the fish that I caught because of the conditions we had: dirty water. I was a huge help being able to see deeper and see the beds and the actual fish."

Hamilton ended up fishing the tournament in 16th, another very convincing placement for the 2nd year Elite Series angler. Just like his successful finish on Lake Martin, Hamilton used his Popticals sunglasses to play to his sight fishing strengths in spite of unpredictable conditions.
