MDT is proud to announce the release of the HNT Buttstock as a standalone product, now available in a folding configuration. Previously exclusive to the HNT26 chassis system, this ultralight hunting buttstock brings carbon-fiber performance, field-proven ergonomics, and modular compatibility to a wider range of MDT chassis platforms.
The HNT Buttstock was originally developed as part of MDT's flagship HNT26 hunting chassis system, a purpose-built platform engineered for serious mountain and backcountry hunters. The HNT26 chassis is known for its extreme weight savings, carbon fiber construction, and clean, minimalist ergonomics—delivering the stability of a chassis rifle with the handling and carry comfort of a traditional hunting stock. Its growing reputation in demanding field conditions is what made the HNT Buttstock a natural candidate to be offered as a standalone upgrade for other MDT systems.
Designed for hunters and backcountry shooters who demand minimal weight without compromising adjustability or durability, the HNT26 Chassis features a foam-filled carbon fiber shell paired with precision aluminum fixed or folding adapters and titanium hardware. Users can fine-tune fit with adjustable length of pull using included spacers, as well as adjustable cheek riser height and position. A folding configuration is available for non-bolt side setups, providing compact transport without interfering with rifle operation. The result is an ultralight, rigid, and ergonomic buttstock ideally suited for modern XTN-based hunting chassis builds.
The HNT Buttstock is compatible with all MDT chassis systems that utilize the XTN interface, including the ACC Elite, ACC Premier GEN2, and LSS GEN3 platforms. MDT also developed the Short XTN adapter specifically for this configuration to provide additional length-of-pull flexibility on compact builds. Due to adapter orientation, the buttstock is not compatible with left-hand chassis systems.
For shooters looking to further refine their setup, the HNT Buttstock is compatible with MDT's Vertical Adjust Buttpad and the Buttstock LOP Spacer Weight, allowing additional tuning for recoil management, balance, and shooter fit.
