The California Department of Fish and Game's (DFG) Advanced Hunter Education Program is offering a bear hunting clinic February 13, at the Diamond Springs Memorial Hall in the town of Diamond Springs. The one-day workshop begins at 9 a.m. and ends around 4:00 p.m. Instruction will be provided on bear biology, habits and habitat, different styles of hunting bear, gear and garb, different dog breeds used to hunt bear, pre-season scouting, bear sign, shooter position, how to field dress the bear, and much more.
The cost is $45, and space is limited. 16 years and younger are free but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Lunch will be provided by the Pacific Coast Hunter Education Instructor Association for a $10.00 donation.

After registering, each participant will receive an e-mail with a map to the facility, a list of items to bring, and a workshop agenda. Diamond Springs Memorial Hall is approximately 41 miles east of Sacramento.
